Transformers Kingdom Deluxe Class Slammer
Remember to get his cannon from the back of the tray.
Slammer is a non-sentient drone controlled by Metroplex to defend itself from Decepticon attacks. Uhh… that’s about it.
The figure shares some parts from Earthrise Ironworks.
In the original toyline, Slammer was never given a robot mode and was only shown as a combat drone tank. It’s interesting to see Hasbro took this guy in a different direction and they actually did a pretty good job of it.
To transform Slammer, you’ll have to take him apart. He’s basically a parts-former.
Even though it’s a bit hard to do, due to the way the turret connects to the tank mode, you can still move the barrel a bit to the sides.
While no notice was given by the manual on how to place Slammer onto Metroplex in city mode, this is probably the best way to do it. Lol…
In this toyline , Slammer is actually a Weaponizer, capable of combining with fellow Autobots to augment their attack capabilities.
Missile array.
Left-arm-mounted cannon.
Right-arm-mounted chainsaw.
Overall, a pretty good new release. Hasbro did great stuff here and making him into a Weaponizer was a nice new concept. I also love that we finally get all of Metroplex’s crew together (after almost 10 years). Hopefully at some point we get an update Scamper figure too since the one that comes with Metroplex is just too small when posed next to these guys.
… Aaand with this, we bid farewell to the Transformers War for Cybertron: Kingdom toyline. Pipes and Slammer are the last “new” figures to roll out for this series. We’ll be moving onto “Transformers Legacy” next.
