A huge improvement over the classic Bandai version, this Yamato figure was very impressive when it first came out more than 5 years ago. Sporitng diecast in the chest and legs. This was the epitome of the VF1S, until Yamato later released the 1/48 version.
The major complaint I suppose would be the leg swapping, to transform the mech from Jet to Robot mode required removing the underside of the jet and reattaching it into the robot. This proved to be a big hassle but worked in preserving the look of the toy in all 3 modes (sorry I forgot to take a pic of the Gerwalk mode). The bigger downside to this is the legs come off easily if you’re not careful.
Also for some reason the head on mine seems to look up, it can’t look forward. I’m not sure if this is a factory defect or if I simply mistransformed the toy.
